1) What is your
favourite place in Belfast?
My favourite place in Belfast is the Botanic Gardens. They are
right next to the University's main building and library. I haven't roamed all
over the gardens, but it's nice to have a park to walk through.

2) What, of all the new candy that we have
tried, is your favourite? Your least favourite?
My favorite candy is a
toss up between Vanilla Fudge and Cadbury's chocolate bars. We probably have
Vanilla Fudge at home, but I'm not sure. And Cadbury's chocolate just melts in
my mouth. My least favorite was that random candy bar I tried with peanuts. I
thought it would be like a PayDay, but it wasn't. It was all hard and crunchy.
I didn't like it to the point where I forgot what the name of the bar was.

3) What was the hardest thing to get used to?
The hardest thing to get used to is probably just the different culture they have going here. I remember the first couple of weeks when the freshers came. They went out almost every night partying. Dressed nicely. I don't really know what partying college students are like back home, but I'm sure most just stay in and party, not go out to clubs every single night. It was hard to get used to when they party in the dorm, but at least they usually stop between 1am and 2am.
4) Which is colder: Belfast, or Michigan?
Michigan is
colder...usually. Belfast only feels cold when the wind and rain kick up. I
know that I will be freezing when I go back home to Michigan. There will
probably be snow. And coldness. I can usually just go out with my jacket and
scarf out in Belfast. It feels like perpetual fall, but that's only because
we'll be leaving before it gets really cold for them here.
5) What was your favourite trip this semester?
I enjoyed the trip to
Edinburgh, Scotland that me, Victoria, and Rebekah took on our own. (I
will leave out the part where we visited Glasgow.) We figured out the hostel,
walking to places, and bus trips on our own (mostly Victoria with the tickets).
We visited the Edinburgh Castle which is still operational on a military level,
we walked through shops and we got to see a friend of mine from back home while
listening to great music. It was great.

6) What is your favourite class? Your least
favourite? Which one is hardest?
My favourite class might
be Medieval Literature. I thought I would like Creative Writing most, but with
the lectures in Medieval, I feel that I'm learning much more about the Medieval
ages in England than I did in the class that I took on Medieval History. Unfortunately,
it's probably also the hardest class. My least favourite is 18th Century and
Romantic Literature, but only because everything we've read so far hasn't been
fun. I am looking forward to reading Lyrical Ballads and Frankenstien, though.
7) What do you like most about Belfast compared
to the U.S.?
Hmmm, I'm not sure. I feel as if the people are really friendly here. Maybe I just don't go out much at home. I've never lived in a city before, but this is probably the best city that I'd ever want to live in. The people are friendly and it seems more like a large town than a big city. I can walk the streets without worrying that I'm going to be mugged or something. I like the architecture, too. They have buildings that have been around for hundreds and hundreds of years and they keep up the condition of the buildings, even if some of them have been horribly bombed or damaged in the past.
8) What are you looking forward to most when you
come back?
I'm looking forward to seeing and just spending time with my family and friends when I get back. And home cooked meals. I'm looking forward to Christmas food. And pumpkin flavored food. But mostly, my family. They're crazy but they get me and I've missed them.
9) Have you gotten used to U.K. spellings? How
hard do you think it will be to re-learn American spellings?
I realized I've been
throwing 'u's everywhere. I haven't changed the format on Word, though, so
hopefully going back to American spelling won't be too hard because my laptop
won't let me spell things the way UK would. And if I do, it automatically
changes it to American.
10) What is the hardest part about living
abroad? The best part?
The hardest part about
living abroad is me missing my family. And the state of Michigan as a place.
Yes, I miss Michigan too. I think that I probably won't live abroad again. I'm
too much of a visit and go home person at the end of the day. The best part is
getting to see amazing places, trying new and strange things, and meeting
people. All kinds of people. And listening to them talk. It's funny when I
don't understand a phrase and they have to explain it to me, or vice versa.
Yes, the best part is all of the people that I've met.
11) Downton Abbey is...
AWESOME!!!! That is all
you need to know. Everyone should watch Downton Abbey. It's a BBC television
show and it's AWESOME!
12) Ed Sheeran is...
A British singer with a
guitar :D He has some great songs with great lyrics. He is also AWESOME! He's
supposed to be touring with Taylor Swift next year as her opening act and I
want to get a ticket to see him, oh, and might as well see Taylor while I'm at
it.
13) The cake is...
Good? Cake is cake. (I'm
probably missing an inside joke here.)
14) On a scale of 1-10 (10 being high, 1 being
low) how annoying was Rebekah this semester? :D
Rebekah was annoying?
Hannah's patented "If you take one more picture I will kill you" look
Rebekah, I am being serious about the pictures!!!
That is it, I am done. I am bashing your head in with my camera now.
15) Home is...
far, far away right now :( I miss home.
